*PINK PROJECT- Photography-

NY-By JeoonMe Yoon

+Yoon's portraits of young girls surrounded by their monochromatic posessions are astute reflections on gender, consumerism and aesthetics. Her use of a medium format camera, set to the lowest aperture, allows each object and each child's expression to be witnessed with exceptional clarity, dimesion and sharpness.+

*With portraits taken between New York City and South Korea, the series was inspired by her experience shopping for her own son and daughter and the products she found available, often marked and marketed by a strong gender divide.

These photos made me feel happy, stared, anxious and compulsive. I really enjoyed them. There are much more to see: www.jenkinsjohnsongallery.com
