NEW* The Dead Weather with Jack White and Allison Mosshart
In his primary group, the White Stripes, Mr. White is known as one of rock’s finest guitarists. In the new band, though, he plays drums. Alison Mosshart, of the London-based duo the Kills, is the lead singer; Dean Fertita of Queens of the Stone Age plays guitar; and Jack Lawrence, from Mr. White’s other band, the Raconteurs, is the bassist. The 11 songs on the “Horehound” album - 10 originals and a yowling cover of Bob Dylan’s “New Pony” - are spare and sexy, with vocals often distorted or submerged beneath grinding, snaky rhythms. (The first single, “Hang You From the Heavens,” wasimmediately made available on iTunes; the full album will be released in June.)

*Lucky Spot*
It seems there's no end to Stella McCartney's creativity. An animal lover, Stella has often used the silhouette of a horse in her textiles and fashion design. Now she's reprised Lucky Spot, a gorgeous crystal "chandelier" installation at Belsay Castle in the UK. Lucky Spot was originally created by the fashion designer back in 2004 for a special exhibit at the castle, and has returned (her/him) there in a special engagement for the Easter Holidays.
Stella McCartney was inspired to create Lucky Spot as a response to the beauty of Belsay Castle with it's medieval architecture and mystical quarry garden. According to Belsay Castle officials, "she wanted to create something magical, romantic and visually stunning. She designed a jewelled curtain of thousands of Swarovski crystals that hung in the shape of a horse from the ceiling in the Castle's Great Hall." As you can see it's remarkable.
